Glenn O. Swing Hits the Distinguished Mark, Again!
For the third year in a row Glenn O. Swing Elementary School students earned a Distinguished rating-the highest rating possible-on the latest round of state tests. With an overall score of 80.3, Glenn O. Swing ranks in the 99th percentile of all schools statewide. Only 2 out of 52 elementary schools in Northern Kentucky and 20 of the 714 elementary schools throughout the state posted higher scores than Glenn O. Swing. In addition, we have the highest scores in Covington Independent Public Schools. "Once again this year we are so excited about the progress our students and staff have made. Our students and staff know that we still have more work to do, and we want to increase our profi-ciency ratings further. I am so proud of our stu-dents and staff. They work so hard each and eve-ry day, not just during test time’’ said Scott Alter, principal at Glenn O. At the end of each school year, all third, fourth and fifth grade students take the K-PREP (Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress) assessment. Districts earn a score from 0 to 100 and is ranked by that score. The state goal is for every school to be proficient. The following are some highlights from our 2015-2016 test results:
