Students at James E. Biggs Early Childhood Education Center enjoyed hearing from Kentucky State Rep. Buddy Wheatley, who read from books that contained one of his favorite topics - firefighters.
Wheatley, a former Covington fire chief, said reading to students is a joy.
“It’s always a fun thing,’’ he said. “I learn as much from them as they do from the books. It is rewarding. They pay close attention and they are always so well- behaved here at Biggs."
Wheatley is one of several community leaders that the school invited to read to students as part of its Community Reader Program.
