During this season of Thanksgiving, I would like to take the time to give thanks and express my personal gratitude to the teachers and staff, volunteers, students and families of Covington Independent Public Schools. I am grateful to work in such a supportive community that deeply cares about our students.
This year has been challenging, but there are still so many things to be thankful for, such as life and health. I know the last few months have been unlike any other that we have experienced because of COVID-19. Your resilience and support have not gone unnoticed. Thank you parents, teachers, staff and students for adjusting to the many changes that we have had to impose during this unprecedented time.
While Thanksgiving is sure to look different for all of us, I truly hope you are able to have a wonderful day filled with thanks. I am also asking you to please do not let your guard down during the holidays. If you are sick, test positive or have been exposed to someone who has tested posted, please do not come to work, but take a sick day or work remotely. I also strongly recommend that you follow the CDC guidelines for celebrating Thanksgiving by clicking this link - Celebrating Thanksgiving | CDC.
Again, I am thankful for all of you. Please have a nice, safe Thanksgiving.
Alvin L. Garrison,
Superintendent
