Million Word Challenge Winners

Million Word Challenge

The March Madness Million Word Challenge at our elementary schools was a huge success. Between March 17- April 6, the children of Covington were exposed to 18,623,297 words which correlates to 4,008 hours, 31 minutes and 48 seconds of students being engaged in literacy activities.

School Winner: John G. Carlisle Word Total : 6,092,019 Usage: 1,034 hr 19 min 6 seconds

Second Place: Glenn O. Swing Word Total: 5,212,970 Usage: 1,028 hr 54 min 10 seconds

Student Tablet Winner: Damia Cruz- Hastings, Kindergarten Student at GOS in Ms. Steinhauser's room Word Total: 42,413 words

"We are very excited about the opportunities Footsteps 2 Brilliance is giving our families in Covington to engage in reading wherever they are," said Suzanne Thompson, coordinator of Footsteps2Brilliance.

 

Please Note: An update for the Footsteps2Brilliance program has been released and is ready for your devices. This is an update in your app store (if you are using Smart Devices). Go to the app store and click on the update button for Footsteps2Brilliance (you should be updating to 5.1.6 now). If you use a PC or laptop, you will receive the current version once you type in the address www.myf2b.com. Many new features have been added including some new games—Sequencing and Pattern Play, as well as instructional videos, and a new writing feature called, ‘My Journal’.
