Latino Youth Leadership Summit

The Latino Youth Leadership Summit will be held June 5-9 at Gateway Community and Technical College in Covington. The week is a joint effort between 21st Century and the HHS EL department. Approximately 16 Covington students will participate.

The mornings will consist of additional instruction in English and Math led by Marina Burchett and Dr. Vivian Gonzalez-Bodden.  The afternoons will include leadership and cultural events led by Mayra Guzman and Christian Reyes.

Tuesday afternoon the students will visit NKU for a tour and to learn about college opportunities that are available to them upon graduation. Wednesday afternoon includes a tour and information from Gateway.

The summit will conclude on Friday afternoon with a culminating family event at John G. Carlisle and a lunch of carne asada, rice, beans, and salsa.
