Schools to Close Monday, March 16

Beshear

The governor of Kentucky today recommended that all schools in the commonwealth cease in-person classes for 10 days to help combat the spread of the coronavirus. Covington Schools will follow the governor’s recommendation. The district will close beginning Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27.

Please note, school will be in session Friday, March 13. All staff and students are to report.

As of now, students will return to school on Monday, March 30. During the closure, the district will implement its Non-Traditional Instruction program so that the education process continues during the closure. Information regarding our NTI program was sent home with your child today. The district also will continue to feed our students. We will send out detailed information on instruction and feeding tomorrow. Please look for more updates on the district website, under the header COVID-19.

As always, we thank you for your continued support.

Alvin L. Garrison,
Superintendent
