Out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of our students and staff, Covington Independent Public Schools will go to remote instruction only for two weeks, beginning Monday, November 2. In-person instruction will resume on November 16. Your child’s school will follow-up soon with more information on how this learning will take place.
The district is taking this precautionary measure as two of our schools have experienced an increase of COVID-19 related cases and it is our hope to stop the spread.
Per our protocol, we will conduct contact tracing. Our buildings also will be sanitized and disinfected. We are also in contact with the Northern Kentucky Health Department.
The health, safety, and well-being of our school community remains our top priority. We are following sound protocols aligned with expert health guidance to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect your health. We also want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of wearing masks, staying six feet apart from others, and regularly washing your hands.
We cannot share further details due to our need to protect confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide you with updates if any further steps are necessary. If you have questions or need to report a positive case of COVID-19, please contact your school nurse.
