• Alert:

Covington Independent Public Schools will return to in-person learning on September 28, operating on the “A/B” Hybrid Model.

This means students who are assigned to the “A” group will attend school in person on Mondays and Tuesdays. Students assigned to the “B” group will attend school in person on Thursdays and Fridays. Students will continue to log in and complete assignments online on days in which they are not scheduled to attend in person. Earlier this month during orientation visits, schools informed students of which group they were assigned. Please contact your child’s school if you are not sure of your child’s grouping. Students who opted for virtual only in the Covington Virtual Academy, will continue with their online assignments five days a week. Just a reminder that Covington Virtual Academy students must remain fully virtual until December 18.

Lights On Afterschool Event

Lights On Afterschool

Please join us in celebrating our afterschool programs on Friday, October 18. All students, staff, and families are invited to stop by the Holmes High School gazebo before the football game. The event will offer trivia questions related to afterschool programs, prizes, and an opportunity to learn about teenage alcohol use. Everyone will be able to participate in a simulation activity using fatal vision goggles.

Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and the important role the programs play in the lives of children, families and communities. The Afterschool Alliance organizes Lights On Afterschool to draw attention to the many ways afterschool programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things. These events send a powerful message that more kids need quality afterschool programs.
